Mercedes Benz Fashion Week: Designer Recaps-Monique Lhuillier

Monique Lhuillier’s Spring 2012 collection was all about bold prints and saturated colors with a sporty, athletic edge. She used intricate seams to outline the body and color blocking and accents of leather for an unexpected edge. She showed daytime and evening looks however, her evening looks stayed true to her reputation, by showcasing sexy silhouettes, cut-out and lace insets, tulle ruching, open backs and graphic prints on floor-length gowns. Her color palette consisted of canary yellow, cobalt blue, and lipstick red with pops of black and white. The star-studded front row consisted of Mandy Moore, LeAnn Rimes, and Rose McGowan.
