Mercedes Benz Fashion Week: Designer Recaps-Herve Leger

Herve Leger's iconic banded dress was made over in Max Azria's Spring 2012 collection. We've all come to know these form-fitting bandage dresses as they always make an appearance at movie premiers and awards shows but we've yet to see such originality in Max Azria's line as this. This Spring, Azria used weaving, braiding, fringe, and macrame techniques to "awaken the senses and seduce." And that it did. These architectural designs brought metallic to a new level with gold, bronze, silver, gunmetal, blush and even black metallic dresses on the runway.  Tribal is still going strong for Spring and Azria weaved in tribal prints into classic strapless and v-neck banded dresses. The styling was magnificant with leather gladiator sandals wrapped clear up to the knees and slick back ponytails and buns. Very dominatrix and very powerful. Among the front row were actresses and musicians such as Ashley Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt, LeAnn Rimes, Jessica Szor, Katie Cassidy, and Jessica White, all wearing their own Herve Leger dresses.
