Sticking to her roots, Michelle Smith designed her Spring 2012 collection with bold colors, graphic prints, and retro silhouettes. Smith was inspired from artist Sonia Delaunay's "brilliant use of color and line" and chose to use saturated hues and geometric prints in her collection. Her color palette consisted of cobalt blue, tangerine, vermillion, jade and azure with neutrals like brown, indigo, khaki and white to ground the bold colors. Smith's collection featured familiar rectangular, striped, and graphic zig-zag prints that her fans have grown to love season after season. Styling was perfect with Manolo Blahnik pumps, simple ponytails, pastel pink lips, and MIlly handbags and scarves. The collection was very modern in feel and retro in cut with short sheath dresses, timeless button down shirts, circle skirts, printed trench coats, and sexy cigarette pants. The Milly runway show drew the likes of singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae, TV personality Louise Roe, and famed socialite Tinsley Mortimer. This collection is sure to be a hit amongst St. Louisans.
